As an engine’s horsepower and torque is increased, a performance clutch is needed to transfer the engine’s power into motion. With a poor clutch disc, the drive train will not be able to grab hold of the extra power generated. When this happens, you will experience clutch slippage and poor engagement when shifting through gears at high RPMs.
Designed for racing, the heavy-duty ACT XTreme Solid-Center Race Clutch Disc is specially built for quick gear shifting and very harsh clutch engagement condition during drag and road racing. As a result, these ACT XTreme Performance Race Clutch Discs are not recommended for daily street use. The ACT XTreme Race Clutch Disc also has high torque and heat capacity.

The ACT XTreme 4-Pad Solid-Center Race Clutch Disc (R4) has lower heat capacity than the 6-pad clutch disc (R6) due to its smaller surface area. However, the ACT XTreme 4-Pad Solid-Center Race Clutch Disc (R4) can handle more torque capacity than the ACT XTreme 6-Pad Solid-Center Race Clutch Disc. For gear shift quickness, the ACT XTreme 4-Pad Solid-Center Race Clutch Disc engages and shifts quicker than the 6-Pad Solid-Center Race Clutch Disc, but the tradeoff is that the gear engagement is harsher, making your ride more jerky.
The ACT XTreme Performance Race Clutch Disc series features drive plates made of high carbon spring steel that is heat treated and black zinc-plated to resist bending, cracking, fatigue, and rust even in severe racing conditions. Premium ceramic friction materials used on the ACT XTreme Race Clutch Disc provide high heat tolerance, high coefficient of friction and low wear rates. All ACT clutch discs feature top graded rivets to securely fasten parts together.
Most ACT Race clutch discs are SFI certified to insure safety. All ACT Race clutch discs are manufactured with increased strength and reliability.
ACT XTreme 4-Pad Solid-Center Race Clutch Disc Features:
