DC Sports headers are well-known for getting the best performance for your money. Most DC Sports 4-1 header systems have been proven by dyno test to improve performance by 8-12 HP.
DC Sports 4-1 header units are precision bent on CNC mandrel benders. The header flanges are CNC machined. The flange-mating surfaces are machine-grinded to ensure a leak-free seal. The flanges are welded onto the header pipe using a robotic welder to achieve a uniform weld.
Most DC Sports 4-1 header units are available in stainless steel including the flanges, eliminating any chance of rust. DC Sports 4-1 stainless-steel headers are available in two finishes: polished finish and brushed finish. DC Sports 4-1 polished header units feature hand TIG welds at the flanges while the brushed 4-1 stainless-steel header units feature machine MIG welds at the flanges. Some DC Sports 4-1 header units are available in ceramic form. DC Sports 4-1 ceramic header units have a matte finish to them for a more subdued look.
To get a more accurate sampling of all cylinders, DC Sports relocates the O2 sensor to the collector area. This allows the O2 sensor to read exhaust gas oxygen from all four cylinders. For any DC Sports 4-1 header that requires an O2 sensor wire extension, DC Sports includes an O2-sensor wire extension harness. The DC Sports O2 wire extension harness is constructed from OEM components and includes a harness that allows you to connect the extension directly to the factory wire without any modifications.
The DC Sports 4-1 headers are designed for racing applications where the vehicle is being driven at or near redline. The DC Sports 4-1 header design maximizes top end power whereas the DC Sports 4-2-1 header evenly distributes it throughout the power band.
DC Sports 4-1 header systems come with either the 1-piece or 2-piece design. The DC Sports 1-piece header design should have better airflow due to less air flow distortion but the 2-piece design is easier to install.
Your engine noise level should NOT change noticeably after a DC Sports 4-1 or 4-2-1 header has been installed.
DC Sports 4-1 one-piece header units do NOT come with exhaust gaskets or hardware. DC Sports 4-1 two-piece header units come with factory style O-rings and hardware to connect the two sections of the header. The stock factory head and donut gasket (if applicable) are durable enough to be reused with our product. If for some reasons your stock components are damaged, you can pick up replacement parts at your local car Dealer. DC Sports has elected to use factory parts because of the abundant supply.
All DC Sports 4-1 header systems come with a 1-year warranty backed by DC Sports. A proof of purchase is required for for all DC Sports warranty claims. PLEASE NOTE THAT REMOVAL OF THE FACTORY CATALYTIC CONVERTER WILL VOID THE WARRANTY ON YOUR DC SPORTS HEADER. This is because the spring-loaded bolts used to connect the catalytic converter to the header system are often replaced with un-sprung bolts that can stress the flanges and cause failure. If you need to replace your catalytic converter (for off highway use only) with a replacement pipe, we highly recommend using the factory spring-loaded bolts.
